ABOUT

Martin Drescher is a self-taught visual artist based in Denmark.

His approach to creating art is to experiment with the materials at hand and not to aim for a specific outcome but rather let the process lead the way.

"To me, the creation of art is a process of translating the imagined into something realized, which requires the courage to let go and allow the painting to develop a life of its own. "

The painting evolves during this process and changes radically between its beginnning and its completion.

And yet without its initial form the end result would not be the same.

Using paintbrush, spatulas and pouring techniques he applies multiple layers of both heavy body and high flow paint aiming to create texture, colour complexity and debth in his paintings.

It's a long and exciting process of where the painting gradually and slowly reveals itself.
